Home Office Inspiration

Home Office Inspiration
With our Haines Curates designers launching new fabric collections this week, we were curious to find out where they develop their beautiful prints and patterns and build their burgeoning businesses. From cosy kitchen snugs to fabric-laden pinboards, find home office inspiration from the creative corners of these eco-conscious designers.

Pomily
.
.
Pomily founder Emily Bowring prints her designs in the UK on sustainably sourced linen and cotton blend fabrics, chosen for their natural fibres and biodegradability. Her ‘Checkers’ fabric has been one of our most popular and recently featured in our collaboration with Lorfords Contemporary.
.
'I work from home in East London and can spend hours peacefully sitting at my little desk creating or editing designs, chopping samples, replying to enquiries and processing orders. While I draw a lot of my inspiration from the outdoors and love to be outside surrounded by nature, I'm equally happy hermitting inside - especially in the colder months!'
.
Pomily’s new collection of fabrics is inspired by the British Countryside, with leafy motifs and earthy tones introduced throughout.

Amy Kent
.
Amy Kent was the first rug maker to join Haines Curates. She’s designed a series of flat weave rugs made using only recycled wool, some of which are available exclusively to Haines. Hand-woven by a family-run studio in Nepal, each rug is made from a range of dyed yarns left over from bespoke orders.
.
I think your environment is pivotal to your mood. I absolutely love this nook at the end of my kitchen - it gets the light through the terrace door for most of the day, and when I’m bored of working at my desk (or when the sun goes round), I curl up here with my computer and carry on. It makes me feel happy.”

Daphne Roach
.
.
Daphne Roach only uses 100% natural linen, a biodegradable material that has an undemanding impact on the environment. All fabrics are printed to order to minimise waste, and any remnants are recycled into smaller accessories. She works from her home study, which is suitably adorned with her gorgeous fabrics.
.
“This is my small upstairs study overlooking the garden where all my fabrics and products are stored, well away from my chaotic studio. My chair is covered in Aerial View and Green Curved Metal, which is also used on the Roman blind.”

Daughters of Gaea
.
.
Felicity Marshall founded Daughters of Gaea in 2022. She creates ethically made and sustainably sourced luxury textiles, working solely with female-led artisan groups from around the world.

"Now that autumn is here, and daylight is creeping away, brightening my home with an autumnal abundance of florals and snuggling by the fire makes everything feel better. There is a misconception that blossoms are only for springtime, but I think adding floral decor in autumn and winter makes the house feel extra cosy and festive."

“My favourite corner in my favourite room at home, surrounded by books, lots of colour and flowers from the garden. Just a shame I don’t get to sit in it very often!”
